Monastery corner Aldersbach / Ortenburg

Ortenburg, which used to be the ancestral seat of the mighty earls of Ortenburg offers a huge variety of activities and attractions with its numerous museums, Wild Life Park and Bird Park and its treasures of art. If you like to play golf, you can choose one of the many golf courses in the Monastery Corner e.g. the Feng-Shui-Golf course in Fürstenzell or Europe’s biggest Golf resort in Haarbach. Bavarian Golf and Thermal Spa region: Bad Füssing and Bad Griesbach
Bad Füssing and Bad Griesbach: Two spas at a high level! One of them is located in the “Pockinger Heide”, the other thrones on the hills of the “Rottal” like a modern castle. First known for their hot and healing springs, Bad Füssing and Bad Griesbach developed to famous spas thanks to trend-setting offers. The “Vorwald” consist of the five communities Aicha vorm Wald, Büchlberg, Eging am See, Hauzenberg and Tiefenbach. Good air, a lot of forest and a lot more granite – those are the characteristics of the “Vorwald”. Surrounding Hauzenberg and Büchlberg, the granite “reigns”. The "Eternal Stone" of the Bavarian Forest shaped the landscape and the people and wrote history. If you are interested in the history of the granite, you can get a lot of interesting information in the “Granitzentrum and Granitmuseum Bayerischer Wald” in Hauzenberg. Other Attractions in the region “Vorwald” are the authentic western town “Pullman City” in Eging, the hiking path “Goldsteig”, which runs through the area and one of the biggest swimming lakes in the Bavarian Forest.

A sightseeing tour on foot or with the slow train, a tour through the Botanical Garden, a visit in one of the many museums or a ride to the top of the “Pöstlingberg” with the “Grottenbahn” and the zoo show you the most beautiful sides of the city.
